Keeping Class and Meeting Notes

Keeping class notes always seems to be a challenge.. The old way of doing it by keeping binders with printed slides and handwritten notes is uhmm.. just that.. old! You have to haul that big binder with you every time and flip through the pages to find anything, and if you want to keep it for after the class is over, forget it, those binders are just going to end up in the boxes collecting dust..

And if you go the digital route, the challenge is associating the notes with the slides, and keeping it all organized so that you can find it later.

iClippy handles both tasks with ease! It allows you to take a snapshot of the slide, and add comments at any time.. It’s stored online, neatly organized with an appropriate tag, and should you want to share the slide with your friend or team member, it’s a snap!

Visual Bookmark

What do we do when we run across an article we want to refer to later? Bookmark it and forget about it, only to hope that we can find it among 1000’s other bookmarks we’ve made?

iClippy attempts to help with the process by:

  1. engaging the visual memory (by making a snapshot of the piece of the article that will help you remember it)
  2. allowing you to tag and index text of the article so you can find it quickly
  3. by creating a link to the article from the snapshot you’ve created, and finally
  4. by allowing you to select the snapshot, insert it into the email and your friend/colleague will see the snapshot and will be able to click on it and follow the link right from the email or IM

“What’s going on here?”

Today I was communicating with an engineer on IM and wanted to ask him about traffic irregularity I’d seen earlier.. I typed “did you see this spike?” into IM, quickly selected the area on the screen and pasted into the IM.

Not only were we on the same page as to what I was referring to, but there’s now a record of this spike that we can refer back to if need be.

Something caught your eye? Capture it..

I recently ran across a beautiful shot on Bing.  Being in the market for a nice wall photo, I found the artists name by hovering over the (c) info, hit PrtSc button and popped the photo into my clipboard.  Time to do this: under 3 seconds…  then move on to what I was doing..

Keeping track of those graphs

Lots of times we find a perfect graph that might come in useful one day.   The question inevitably comes up – where do you store it?  Create a folder for graphs on your computer?  Perhaps..  If you don’t want to mess with folders, however, iClippy provides a great way to store, reference, and share the data you find.  Just one click to select and paste it in.. like this..
